happy birthday me!

judy and i celebrated my 26th birthday by doing the six taste food tour in los angeles' financial district. we met at pershing square and it was a beautiful day. there were a lot of walking but it was great. we definitely saw los angeles in a different light. it is so-so at the ground level but awesome when you look up. lots of food were eaten. some good and some aren't my type but there are definitely some winners here. there's a few places that we'd go back to and some not so much.

first stop was lost souls. will come back here for sure! some pan de sal and ube milk shakes! the bread reminds me of the ones from the philippines. i don't realize it much but i miss some of the filipino culture like mirienda!

second stop was at syrup desserts. food was good but the atmosphere was the best part. they had board games and shat! judy got poned in scrabble of course...

judy liked mac & cheeza a lot. me not so much... gross.

we also ate at soi 7. its an upscale thai restaurant. food was not bad but the boat is way better!! i miss the boat... we purchased a limited anime/manga edition souvenir sake. the art was cool and sake was surprisingly good too!

this is the citibank building. the place is highly secured since its the tallest skyscraper in la, 73 stories to be exact. apparently, they also hold a race to the top here once a year... via staircase... you can do it alone or relay. sounds fun!

judy liked the los angeles public library. i liked the architecture and she liked the books of course...

deviled eggs and empanadas at ciudad. they also held a playstation blog press conference here at the same time. a lot of geeks and awesome ps gear! just in time for e3!!
