Ingredients:
6 egg yolks
1 cup of sugar
1 qt of heavy cream
1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
[I used 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract 'cause I didn't have the bean]
6 (8 oz) ramekins
The procedure to make it is very simple... Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. While the oven is preheating, bring the heavy cream and vanilla extract to a boil them remove from heat. Then, whisk the eggs and sugar together just until the color turns light yellow.
Combine the cream with the eggs a little at a time. Since the cream is still hot, if you combine it with the eggs immediately, it'll cook the eggs!!! So make sure to mix it a little bit at a time. Afterwards, place the mixture into the ramekins and place the ramekins in a large roasting pan or something. Pour hot water on the pan... just enough so that the water covers half the height of the ramekins... then bake!!! I suggest baking it for about an hour and a half since the ramekins are huge!!! I made the mistake of baking it only for 40 minutes... the creme brulee was too liquid still. After baking, put the creme brulee in the fridge for at least 2 hours before putting the sugar on top.
My favorite part... melting the sugar on top of the brulee! You can do this plenty of ways, you can use a sissy kitchen torch or an actual blow torch... (as such!)

Sugar the top of the brulee and carefully melt the sugar on top using the torch. Brown the sugar to your liking. Let it sit for a few minutes for the sugar might burn you! Other than that, your brulee should turn out not half bad!!! You can even top it with your favorite fruit.
Mine was plain (as shown)

However, it seemed to tickle Judy's fancy, which was pretty kewl! She devoured all 5 of the brulees that I made. Thats my girl!
Peace out!
